  I have been working in various leadership roles in local government (both municipal and county government) over the past 23 years. I currently serve as the Assistant County Manager for Summit County Colorado, after serving three years as the Director of Information Systems. Prior to that I spent 18 years as Chief Technology Officer for the City of Greenwood Village, Colorado. I have demonstrated my leadership and communication skills throughout my career. In my current role as a member of the County’s Senior Leadership Team I regularly interface with elected officials, executive leadership, management, line level employees, and community stakeholders. These communication skills were honed in my many years of providing the bridge between the business needs and technology services of an organization to develop creative and innovative solutions to collaboratively improve services in all aspects of the organization. After a 30-year technology career that experienced countless changes in the way organizations use technology, no change was more important than the shift from technology as stuff to technology as a service. The service delivery and service managed skills I spent years studying and applying are now the same skills that drive my effort to extend the role of leadership in local government. Using these skills to help drive organizational improvement and positively an organization’s culture change. Since 2005 I have been using my experience in the application of psychological assessment tools and my Master's Degree in Psychology (Organizational Behavior) to help coach and mentor leaders that authentic leadership begins with people and culture. In 2018 I added a Organization Development Certified Professional (ODCP) credential to this effort. Summit County Colorado
